1990년 4월 구 소련 지역의 선교를 후원하기 위하여 초 교파, 범 교회적으로 설립되었으며, 2004년 2월까지 구 소련 선교와 개척교회 후원을 전담해왔습니다.소련 전역의 각 센터교회에서 훈련 받고 헌신된 사역자들을 체계적으로 교육하기 위하여 모스크바 신학교가 세워졌고, 각 지역에서 보내진 헌신된 사역 자들은 신학교를 졸업하고 자신의 지역으로 돌아가 교회를 개척하기 시작하였습니다.

김광신 목사님께서는 이들이 교회를 개척하고 더욱 사역에 전념하도록 하기 위하여, 청지기 선교회에서 매월 200불을 지원할 수 있는 후원자를 모집하여 개척교회와 연결하도록 하였고, 이러한 지원에 힘입어 구 소련 각지에서는 끈임 없이 교회가 개척되어 2,000여개의 교회에 이르고, 구 소련 선교의 꽃을 피우게 되었습니다.

in April 1990 as an interdenominational, inter- church organization to support missions in the former Soviet Union. Until February 2004, it was dedicated to supporting missions and pioneering churches in the former Soviet Union. The Moscow Seminary was built to systematically educate trained and dedicated ministers from each center church throughout the former Soviet Union. Dedicated ministers sent from each region graduated from the seminary and returned to their own regions to pioneer churches.

In order for the seminary graduates to plant churches and further devote themselves to their ministry, Pastor David Kwangshin Kim recruited sponsors who could provide $200 per month from Grace Stewards and connected them with church plants. Thanks to this support, churches were continuously planted, reaching approximately 2,000 churches, and missions bloomed in the former Soviet Union.

청지기 선교회는 구소련뿐만이 아니라 독립적으로 운영되어오던 일본, 중남미, 이스라엘, 아시아, 아프리카, 유럽등 7개 권역 선교회를 재조직하여, 청지기 선교회에서 총괄적으로 관리 운영하게 되었습니다.
현재 GMI 세계 선교는 60개국에 327명(2024년 5월 현재)의 선교사를 파송(파송율 79%)하고 있는데, 이렇게 파송된 선교사와 신학교를 지원하기 위하여 청지기 선교회는 다음과 같은 역할을 감당하고 있습니다.

매월 $30부터 시작하여, $50, $100, $200 그이상의 금액을 약정하고 모금된 청지기 후원금은 각 나라의 선교를 돕는 지원금으로 사용하게 됨으로, 더욱 선교에 활력을 얻게 되었습니다. 청지기 후원금은 전체 선교지로 지원되는 선교비의 약 20% 가량을 감당하고 있습니다.

Grace Stewards reorganized missions, not only to the former Soviet Union, but Japan (which had previously operated independently), Central and South America, Israel, Asia, Africa, and Europe. The missions were reorganized into seven regional missions, which has been comprehensively managed and operated by Grace Stewards.

Currently, GMI International has commissioned 327 missionaries (as of May 2024) to 60 countries (commission rate 79%), and the Mission Stewards Ministry is taking on the following roles to support the commissioned missionaries and seminaries.
Starting at $30 per month, pledges of $50, $100, $200, and more are made, Grace Stewards funds raised are used to support and help missions in each country, thereby further energizing world missions. Grace Stewards Fund accounts for and supports approximately 20% of the total mission expenses in the mission field.

전세계에 세워진 GMI 산하 신학교는 선교사 훈련원을 포함하여 20개에 이르고, 앞으로도 계속적으로 신학교를 통한 제자화 사역은 계속 될 예정입니다. 매월 모금되어진 청지기 후원금은 신학교와 선교사 훈련원 지원금으로 매월 일정 부분을 감당하고, 특별 선교(난민 선교, 선교사 케어, 선교지 특별 지원등)를 지원하고 있습니다.

청지기 선교회는 작은 빗방울이 모여서 강과 바다를 이루듯이 합심하여 모여진 헌금으로, 매월 GMI선교를 뒷바침하는 재정 후원기관으로, 오늘도 650여명의 청지기 회원들은 중보기도와 물질로 선교에 동참하고 있습니다.

GMI 청지기 선교회는 누구든지, 언제든 선교에 동참할수있는 통로의 역할을 감당하고 있으며, 전 교인의 청지기 회원화와 선교에 동참하기를 원하시는 타 교인이나, 더 나아가서는 해외에서도 선교후원을 할 수 있기를 목표로 하고 있습니다.

As of now, there are 20 GMI affiliated seminaries around the world, including missionary training centers, and through seminaries, disciples will continue to be5) 6) 7) 8) raised in the future. Grace Stewards Fund that is gathered on a monthly basis is used to support seminaries and missionary training centers, and a certain portion of the funds are used to support special missions (refugee missions, missionary care, special support for mission fields, etc.).

Grace Stewards funds are gathered every month like tiny raindrops coming together to form rivers and oceans that financially support and back GMI missions. Today, about 650 Grace Stewards members are participating in missions with intercessory prayers and finances.

GMI Grace Stewards serves as a channel for anyone to participate in missions at any time. It aims for all church members to be Grace Stewards members and to have members of other churches who wish to support missions to be able to further support overseas missions.
